An Open Letter from the President
Web hosting is a difficult business decision. So many choices with so much technical language involved means you almost need a degree in Information Technology if you hope to get a grasp on things.
At eThree Media, we understand your plight. As designers and content producers, we are hardly hard-core geeks. After years of developing web sites and other multimedia projects for our clients, we fully understand how little we really know about IT, and we'd rather like to keep it that way.
Yet when we started building web sites, we knew we needed to dabble if we hoped to service our accounts the way we wanted. Originally, we just turned accounts over to another web hosting company, and that worked well for a time. At least until that firm began trying to steal our clients.
Next, we rented space on a shared server, and that worked well for a time. But we didn't control that machine either, and when things started bogging down, we had no idea why (it usually wasn't our fault). It was a moot point since we couldn't really fix things anyway.
Eventually, it became clear that we needed to find a solution that allowed us more control. So, we invested in our own server in a world-class datacenter in Dallas, Texas. We run the computer, they provide first-rate infrastructure in which we operate. Most hosting companies won't share their technical setup with their clients, but we think it's so important, that it deserves front page status on our site.
So when it comes to choosing your hosting company, you should ask them lots of questions. We're happy to answer any that you have in our pre-sales section of the forum. We'll be the first to tell you that we're not the right hosting company for every need.
I hope that we are well-suited to help you with your hosting needs. If not, thanks for visiting us and giving us your consideration. I wish you safe and happy travels in the land of the geeks.
Sincerely,
Eric Darling, President
